Thoubal, June 07 2026: A new book titled "Oncology Research and Control Strategies in Manipur" authored by Dr Thokchom Priya Devi was released today during a function held at her residence at Heirok Part III.

The book released programme was organised by the Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Thoubal District Branch, Wangjing.

Former Director of AYUSH, Dr Akoijam Lokendra, attended the function as the chief guest, while president of the Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Thoubal District Branch Dr Yumnam Mahendrakumar, presided over the programme.

Registrar of Manipur International University, Imphal, Prof T Brajeshwori Devi, graced the occasion as the guest of honour.

During the function, Head of the ENT Department, JNIMS, Dr Dhakeshwar Singh Potshangbam presented a brief introduction and review of the book.

Author Dr Thokchom Priya is currently serving as a Science Teacher at Lamding Hr Secondary School.

Prior to joining the teaching profession, she served as a nurse in the Oncology Department of Apollo Hospital (New Delhi).

She also holds a PhD degree in Sociology from MIU Imphal.
