Imphal, May 07 2026: Unidentified persons attacked the residence of one Thokchom Brojen (52) located at Bashikhong Lamlong Mari Phangba, Imphal East under Irilbung police station with a bomb.

According to information culled from the spot, unidentified persons hurled a grenade and it exploded at the courtyard of Brojen between 9 pm and 10 pm yesterday.

However, there was no report of any casualty.

Thokchom Brojen is said to be a manager in Air India.

Unidentified persons attacked the residence of Brojen by opening fire on the night of May 13, 2023 too.

Meanwhile, taking strong exception to the bomb attack, local womenfolk staged a protest demonstration at Bashikhong ground this afternoon.

Bashikhong Meira Nupi Welfare Association member Waikhom (O) Somola said it was a matter of grave concern that a bomb was set off in a thickly populated civilian area.

Many aged and sick people are living in the locality, she said.

Somola appealed to all concerned not to carry out such attacks in civilian areas in the future.

She also appealed to the Government to look into the matter.
