FPMC submits complaint

The Fatherland Patriots' Memorial Club (FPMC), Khongjom has submitted a complaint to DC, Thoubal to address the issues pertaining to the construction of Khongjom Bazar market shed.
According to a press release issued by Sapam Olen Singh, secretary, FPMC, the Khongjom market shed was dismantled in 2021 and the renovation work began in 2022.In its current state, the market shed is not fit for use, it asserted.
FPMC reached out to the concerned department numerous times, but were told by department officials and contractor that further construction work will not continue as funds have dried up.
Additionally, the press note asserted that the structure of the Khongjom Bazar market shed built is quite different from the original blueprint (drawing) created before the construction work began.
The toilet of the market shed also lacks an outlet drain.
For the last four years, vendors have battled heat, rain and various challenges selling their wares by the roadside.
As such, the Khongjom Bazar Board, clubs and meira paibis have urged the PR Government to address the issue.
