Imphal, October 05 2025: The Manipur Information Commission observed "Right to Information Week" at the premises of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Imphal today.

Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata, State Information Commissioner Koijam Radhashyam and AMWJU president Asem Bhakta attended the event.

Speaking at the event, K Radhashyam said the RTI Week is celebrated every year from October 5 to October 12.The Right to Information Act, 2005 empowers citizens to access information from public authorities, thereby promoting transparency and accountability, Radhashyam said.

AMWJU president Asem Bhakta also spoke about the RTI Act and urged citizens to use it as a tool to empower themselves and ensure they enjoy their rights.

Advocate Dr Ch Narendra and Agriculture Department's Yasser Ahmed Khan spoke as resource persons during a workshop held as a part of the observance.
