Blood donation camp held

In connection with Teachers' Day, a mega blood donation camp was jointly organised by Ratan Kumar Memorial (RM) School and Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, at the school campus at Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi today.
Altogether 120 persons including staff of RM School and van drivers of the school donated blood at the camp.
Speaking about the programme, RM School founder Khwairakpam Hilary said the blood donation camp was organised as a dedication by teachers on the occasion of Teachers' Day.
He said the camp was organised to make students aware of the benefits of blood donation and to show by example, with van drivers who ferry little children like their own, donating blood which will help save the life of someone in need of blood.
He added that the camp was organised with the objective of spreading the spirit of blood donation among youths, so that they think if teachers can donate blood why not students, and to promote love and coexistence among ourselves through blood donation.
