Imphal, July 05 2026:
The 19th Disturbance Free Educational Zone Demand Day was observed with an academic convention at the Manipur University's Centenary Hall today.
Organised by the Coordinating Committee on Disturbance Free Educational Zone Demand (CCDFEZD), the convention was attended by representatives of 16 organisations, students, parents and academicians.
The day was observed under the theme "Save Education, Save Manipur, Save the Future".
The committee's chairman and president of All Manipur College Teachers Association, Moirangthem Lokendro, said the CCDFEZD was formed by a coalition of 16 organisations in 2008 with the objective to foster a disturbance free educational environment in Manipur.
CCDFEZD convenor and DESAM president Oinam Romesh said bringing about a conducive environment for education requires the collective efforts of all stakeholders.
To bring about and foster a disturbance free educational environment, each stakeholder including the students, teachers, civil bodies, and the Government authorities must perform their duties responsibly and with dedication, he said.
Many new educational policies may be introduced and implemented.
However, these will not bring about the desired changes, unless the current trend or system is changed, he said.
Each stakeholder must become conscious and work responsibly toward bringing about an educational system which is free from all kinds of disturbance, said the DESAM president.
