Imphal, October 04 2026: The 15-day workshop on Ta-Khousarol (The Legacy of Late Guru Moirangthem Ibetombi Singh) organised by Khwai Martial Arts Academy, Uripok concluded today.

The closing function held at Basketball Ground, Uripok Achom Leikai, was attended by Uripok AC MLA Kh Raghumani Singh, Director of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy P Bilash Singh, Deputy Registrar of Manipur University of Culture Dr Lourembam Surjit Singh, former Vice Chairperson of Board of Administrators (IMC) and president of Youth Club, Uripok Achom Leikai B Shanti Sharma and Chairman (Advisory Board) of KMAA Ningthoukhongjam Tombi Raj as presidium members.

Participants of the workshop also gave a Thang-Ta demonstration.

Giving the welcome address, Academy vice president Ranjit Adhikari said the Ta-Khousarol style left behind by late Guru Moirangthem Ibetombi Singh is quite unique.

It is not just holding a 'Ta' and moving.

Sung to the tune of various ragas, it transforms into a highly ritualistic item.

It is a very rare art form, unlike any other, he said.

He added that the workshop was organised to prevent this style of Ta-Khousarol from disappearing.
