Shots fired at Singhat MLA's house, hospital for kids

Unknown persons opened fire towards the Churachandpur town Zou Veng residence of Singhat MLA Chinlunthang Manlu around 12.50 am on Thursday.
According to a police report, the perpetrators fired around five rounds and then fled the area taking advantage of the darkness.
The shots hit some portions of the wall while five AK -47 cases were recovered from the spot.
However, no casualty was reported.
On receiving report of the incident, a team of Churachandpur district police conducted preliminary investigations even as the police station concerned has registered a case.
The attack is the first on the residence of Chinlunthang, one of the 10 Kuki MLAs who have been abstaining from attending successive sessions of the Manipur legislative assembly ever since the ethnic conflict broke out in May last year.
The Kuki MLAs are demanding separate administration for the Kuki community.
On the other-hand, miscreants opened fire at Angel Children Hospital & Vaccination Centre, Uripok Achom Leikai under Imphal Police Station on Thursday evening.
According to a report, unknown persons fired two rounds at the reception counter of the Hospital around 5.20 pm on Thursday hitting the glass installed in front of the counter.
The incident occurred during the OPD hours and as such, many children along with their parents present were left terrified.
On receiving news of the incident, a team of Imphal PS arrived and conducted preliminary investigations, besides registering a case for further investigation.
