Applications invited for Best Manipuri Pony Farmer Award

Kakching, August 03 2026: Applications have been invited from interested candidates for the 1Oth edition of the Yengkhom Ibochou Singh and Tanou Devi Best Manipuri Pony Farmer Award.

The award, sponsored by Dr Yengkhom Rajendra Singh, retired Project Officer of the Veterinary Department from Kakching Chumnang Leikai, was instituted in 2017 .

It carries a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 .

The award is open to pony rearers who care for and rear ponies with dedication and have successfully produced the highest number of foals.

Interested candidates from across the globe can apply for the award.

Applications should be submitted to the President/Secretary, Trust "Yengkhom Ibochou Singh and Tanou Devi Best Manipuri Pony Award", c/o Dr Yengkhom Rajendra Singh, Vets Centre, Kakching Chumnang Leikai, PO Kakching, Manipur-795103, by August 31, 2026 .

The application should include the candidate's name and address, parents' names, number of ponies owned (specifying colts, mares and foals), methods of rearing, and a brief account of any significant work undertaken for the welfare of ponies.

It should also include a recommendation from an NGO working for pony welfare, two photographs of the applicant with his/her ponies and three passport-size photographs.

The award will be presented to the selected candidate at an award presentation function scheduled to be held in November, organised by the Library and Information Centre, Kakching.
