Imphal, October 02 2025: Porompat police have informed that the decomposed male body found on the banks of the Imphal River at Telepati on September 25 will be disposed of if no one claims it by 1 pm on Octobers.

The unidentified body showed signs of advanced decomposition with maggots on the face and a portion of the face missing, according to police.

The body, which is currently at JNIMS mortuary, is decaying and poses a health risk to the surrounding areas and environment.

The original deadline fixed was September 30, but it has been extended to October 5 .

The police have registered a case and are seeking information about the unidentified body, which was approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and wore blue jeans and a white and dark blue checked shirt.
