Jiribam, June 02 2025: Former president of All Manipuri Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (AAMMPAL), Ema Sanathoi Devi has breathed his last due to an illness in Joypur, Assam today.

Ema Sanathoi for a long time has worked relentlessly for the betterment of the Meitei community across the globe.

She work for the development of Meitei community in collaboration with various civil society organisations of Assam including, Assam Indigenous People Protection Committee (AIPPC) as vice-president, Athouba Ningsing Lup Lakhipur, Awapali Meira Paibi as president and Awapali Khubam Ningsing Lup among many others.

She has also been conferred the title "Miyamgi Ema" by Manipuri Youths Front of Assam (MYFA) in 2023 .

Upon her demise, the Manipuri Youths Front of Assam (MYFA) and Assam Indigenous People Protection Committee (AIPPC) have expressed profound sorrow and condolences over the sudden demise of Ema Sanathoi.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, the president of MYFA, Thangjam Brojen and general secretary of AIPPC, Seram Herajit said that her demise is a great loss for the Manipuri society which cannot be filled.

The final rites of Ema Sanathoi will be held tomorrow at her residence in Joypur Part II, Assam.
