Reliance Trends, Readers' Nest inaugurated

Kangpokpi/CCpur, April 01 2023: Kangpokpi Town Committee chairman, Angam Leivon today inaugurated a "Reliance Trends" store at Ting's Tower building in Kilkhong Veng Ward No.13, Kangpokpi District Headquarters.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Caretaker Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills and landlord of Ting's Tower, Haokholal Hangshing; Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi, Kengoo Zuringla; SP Kangpokpi, Th Vikramjit Singh; CEO-SHADC Kangpokpi, James Doujapao Haokip; OC Fire Sub Station Kangpokpi, KWWO, KYU, and other CSO leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, Angam Leivon stated that the people of Kangpokpi are fortunate to see developments in various sectors and launching of Reliance Trends in the town will bring more changes and create job opportunities for youths.

The town committee chairman also lauded the efforts of Haokholal Hangshing and his family in bringing such branded stores in the town.

The landlord's daughter, Phalpichong Hangshing shared that the main goal for opening Reliance Trends was to bring convenience to the people of Kangpokpi and promote growth & competition apart from generating much needed employment in the district.

She also appreciated the Reliance company for their faith in working with the people of Kangpokpi.

Rev Tongkhojang Lhouvum, pastor Kangpokpi Independent Baptist Church performed a blessing prayer while Rev K Hangshing, chairman Kangpokpi Town Churches Fellowship pronounced a benediction prayer.

The event culminated with a vote of thanks by store manager Dilip Khatiwoda.

Meanwhile, Vumlunmang Vualnam, Additional Chief Secretary, today inaugurated a Library building equipped with hostel, mess hall and a cafeteria at New Lamka in Churachandpur district.

The Library named Readers' Nest was set up by Ropiang Foundation Trust with the help of Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) and Coal India.

It already has 5000 plus books in its kitty while another 15,000 more will be added very soon.

At the inaugural event, Dr Thangchinkhup Guite, director Readers' Nest shared that General Reading Room of the Library has 49 Cabins and the Study room has 24 seats.

"The Library also has a dedicated IT Room with 20 Computer sets.

It will be utilized to impart computer skills to needy students as well", he added.

The Library's hotel has 30 beds of which 20 will be offered for free to underprivileged students.

S Khaikhopau Ngaihte, Addl DC/CCpur and Haulianlal Guite, DC Pherzawl also took part in the event.
