Joykisan vows to make Thangmeiband drug-free

Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA, Khumukcham Joykisan, has affirmed his commitment to eradicating drugs from the constituency and fostering talented sportspersons.
Speaking at the inauguration of a new building for the Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club and a pony stable at Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai, Joykisan highlighted the significance of Polo, a sport bom in Manipur and is now played worldwide.
He noted that Thangmeiband has produced many excellent Polo players.
He emphasized that true development of a State is measured not just by infrastructure like roads, but by its ability to produce outstanding sportspersons.
He also stressed the need to further develop sports in Manipur, stating that developed nations are now focusing heavily on sports for progress.
The MLA called for a united effort from students, youth, clubs, and the Meira Paibi to combat the significant impact of drugs currently affecting the youth in Manipur.
Joykisan further urged everyone to work together to make Thangmeiband a drug-free zone and promote the indigenous sport of Polo across all parts of Manipur.
Manipur Horse Riding & Polo Association president Hawaibam Dileep, Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club president Sinam Naba, and Naharol Leishemba Club vice president Ningthoujam Bomcha along with other local leaders and Polo players were also present at the event.
