Swachh Paathshala - Yuva for Swachhta Camp launched at RIMS

The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal today organised the inaugural session of the two-day "Swachh Paathshala - Yuva for Swachhta Camp" at Jubilee Hall, RIMS as part of Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 campaign under the theme "Swachhata Mein Sahbhag; Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat".
The programme aims at fostering a culture of cleanliness, environmental responsibility and active youth participation.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS in the presence of Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital and Prof Y Govindaraj Singh, Nodal Officer, SAP/Kayakalp.
The Director administered the Swachhata Pledge to participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sunil Kumar said the camp provides a platform to sensitise students, staff and institutional community about cleanliness, waste management, water conservation and sustainability.
He said Swachhata is a collective responsibility and called upon all to contribute towards a clean, hygienic and sustainable healthcare environment.
A Swachhata Gyan Yatra flagged off by the Director covered key facilities including waste segregation points, STP/ETP, laundry and RO/water purification units, giving practical insights into waste management and sanitation.
Waste segregation and hospital cleanliness demonstration and an interactive session on water conservation themed "Every Drop Saved is a Contribution to Swachhata" were also held.
A slogan writing competition was organised for students to encourage creativity and awareness on cleanliness and civic responsibility.
Faculty, nursing officials, staff, students and teachers from various schools attended the programme.
