Imphal, August 31 2026:
The All Manipur Muslim United Clubs' Organisation (AMMUCO) has questioned Manipur University Vice Chancellor for allegedly withholding permission for Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at Lilong Haoreibi College even after NCTE granted approval.
In a press release, AMMUCO said students' union, Ex-Servicemen and Alumni Association of Lilong Haoreibi College have already approached the authorities concerned but no action has been taken till date, raising doubts whether the education system in Manipur is going in the wrong direction.
It alleged that Manipur University VC has not issued an ordinance for ITEP B.Ed course, thereby jeopardising careers of many students, while the State Government remains silent.
AMMUCO urged the Chief Minister to convene a meeting with authorities concerned at the earliest and fulfil the demand raised by Lilong Haoreibi College Students' Union, assuring full support in any agitation over the issue.
