Imphal, July 29 2025: Apunba Sorokhaibam Sagei Trust (ASST) has extended monetary aid to displaced folks of the Sorokhaibam sub-clan staying at Working Women Hostel Relief Camp, Thambalkhong Sabal Leikai under Kshetrigao AC.

According to a press release, ASST handed over Rs 10,000 to Sorokhaibam Basanti who is an IDP from Sangaikot, Churachandpur.

Basanti is the daughter of Sorokhaibam Dewan Singh and Sorokhaibam Ongbi Bembe.

She passed the Class XII exam in the first division but faced uncertainty regarding her higher education due to the family's financial troubles.

ASST rushed to help after coming across the student's plight on social media.

The Trust also handed over Rs 2000 to the daughter of IDP Sorokhaibam Premjit from Khamenlok who is also a national player and Rs 3000 to the family of Sorokhaibam Ibemma Devi from Serou.

Today's aid initiative was led by president Tomba Singh.

He was accompanied by vice-president Naba, secretary Basanta, treasurer Manglemjao and convenor Ojit among others.
