Imphal, July 29 2024:
Informing that it would go ahead with its decision to cease transportation of POL and LPG from August 1 in case no positive response is received in the next two days, the Consortium of Manipur Petroleum Products Transporters Fraternity has appealed to all the people not to indulge in panic buying of petroleum products.
A press release issued by the consortium said that the proposed cease work strike is aimed at exploring a lasting solution to the chronic and unbearable difficulties faced by transporters on highways.
Highlighting the possibility of panic buying and black marketing of petrol and diesel in view of the proposed cease work strike, the consortium further appealed to the Government authorities to prevent such a scenario.
The consortium added that retail outlets would not be able to prevent panic buying if the Government does not intervene.
Meanwhile, sources informed that the Consortium of Manipur Petroleum Products Transporters Fraternity may hold a meeting with the Chief Secretary at 7.30 pm on Tuesday.
