Seasonal seeds to be distributed across State

Imphal, August 28 2025:
In a collaborative effort to promote agricultural development in Manipur, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has sponsored a seasonal seed distribution programme in partnership with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Manipur and Seva Bharati Manipur.
Under the programme, a total of 190 seed packets will be distributed, each containing seven different varieties of crops, including bottle gourd, sponge gourd, okra, bitter gourd, cowpea and brinjal.
Out of the total 190 seed packets, 70 packets will be distributed in Imphal, 50 in Thoubal, 30 in Bishnupur, 20 each in Senapati and Tamenglong districts.
Notably, the initiative aims to support local farmers in Manipur by providing them with high-quality seeds, enabling them to enhance their agricultural productivity and improve their livelihoods.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Seva Bharati Manipur have been actively involved in various community development, programmes in the State, and this collaboration with ICAR marks another significant step towards promoting agricultural growth and rural development in the region.
