Imphal, November 27 2025: The lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony of the 15th batch BSc nursing students of Kangleipak Medical & Nursing Institute was held at the institute's premises in Khurai Konsam Leikai yesterday.

The ceremony was graced by Prof N Joykumar Singh, Vice Chancellor, Khongnangthaba University; Kh Ratna Devi, Director of Nursing, Khongnangthaba University; and K Shashikanta Shanna, Superintendent of Archeology, Government of Manipur as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof N Joykumar said that the Kangleipak Medical & Nursing Institute, affiliated to the Khongnangthaba University, is one of the premier institute in the State which offers BSc Nursing and MSc Nursing courses.

He highlighted the key role of nurses in developing the healthcare sector and added that the people should acknowledge the contributions and sacrifices made by the nurses.

He also urged the students who are stepping into the nursing profession to serve the patients with compassion & extreme care without any discrimination based on colour, caste or creed.

As a part of the event, 33 BSc Nursing students of the institute held a lamp lighting ceremony in the honour of Florence Nightingale, the founder of Modem Nursing and took the nursing oath.
