Maring Students Union alleges 'biased treatment'

Imphal, September 27 2026: Alleging 'biased treatment' among various communities by the Tengnoupal Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Yadav, the Maring Students Union president, Sontrun Dangshawa has urged the authorities concerned to probe the matter.

He appealed to the State Government to appoint a new DC for Tengnoupal who will work with all the communities for peace and progress.

The student body made the above allegation and appeal while speaking to media persons during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today.

Regarding the proposal for construction of a District Headquarters Tengnoupal at Pallel for easy access by all the communities, Sontrun Dangshawa has alleged that 'the DC has been posing hindrance and is adamant in constructing it at Tengnoupal' though a land in Pallel is already available for the cause and is ready for inspection.

Stating that a doctor of Maring community was appointed as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in-charge for the first time in the district with due order and notification on June 15, 2026, Sontrun Dangshawa said, 'The CMO in-charge was replaced by a doctor from Churachandpur within 2 months and the DC claimed that the replacement was done through the proper channels'.

Raising concerns on 'alleged targeting of Naga staff in Tengnoupal One Stop Centre so as to remove them from the centre', he termed it as really unfortunate and urged the authorities concerned to appoint a new DC for Tengnoupal district who will work in coordination with all the communities and treat them equally for peace and development.
