Complete PMGSY-III tender evaluation quickly : Contractors Forum

Imphal, August 27 2026: The All Manipur Contractors Association Forum has urged the RD & PR Minister to complete tender evaluation of PMGSY-III at the earliest and to award works after considering local companies.

Addressing a press meet at All Manipur PWD Contractors Association office, PWD Office Complex today, Forum convenor Thangjam Somarendra said roads under PMGSY-I and II were executed by State contractors.

He alleged that the Standard Bidding Document (SBD) has been amended for PMGSY-III to debar State contractors.

He said 96 works have been tendered for PMGSY-III and the National Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (NRIDA) under the Central Government framed ITB clauses in the NIT in such a way that State contractors cannot participate.

The Forum also alleged that the Commissioner and Chief Engineer are trying to allot the works to outside firms and companies.

Somarendra said though the technical evaluation of 96 road works under PMGSY-III announced on July 31 was to be completed in 5 days, it has not been declared till date.

The Forum also expressed apprehension that an outside company which procured laboratory equipment worth over Rs 9 crore from Imphal is trying to interfere in the tender.

It appealed to the Minister concerned to look into the matter.
