Kamjong, June 27 2026:
An Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) campaign will be conducted across Kamjong district for three days from June 28 to 30, 2026, to protect children below five years of age against poliomyelitis.
During the campaign, children below five years will be administered two drops of Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) to strengthen protection against the polio virus.
As part of the programme, polio vaccination booths will be set up at various locations across the district on June 28, to administer polio vaccine.
Health workers, including ASHAs and Anganwadi workers, will also conduct house-to-house visits on June 29 and 30 to identify and vaccinate children who have been missed.
The district-level launching programme of the immunisation drive will be held tomorrow at Lairam Khullen Village under Kasom Block.
The Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme is a mass vaccination initiative aimed at eradicating poliomyelitis by providing additional doses of Oral Polio Vaccine to all children below five years of age, supplementing the routine immunisation programme.
