Farmer's body appeals for swift distribution of winter crop seeds

Thoubal, November 26 2024: Poiroupat Farmers' Development Cooperative Society, Imphal East has urged the State Government and Agriculture Department to proceed with the distribution of winter crop seeds to the farmers.

Speaking to the media persons, during a press meet held at Yairipok Tulihal, secretary Kh.

Tomchou said, the year 2024 has been a very challenging year for the farmers in the State.

"Despite numerous requests to the Agriculture Department to provide seeds, the department has not given a single seed to the farmers till date," added Tomchou.

Tomchou appealed to the concerned authority to timely distribute winter crop seeds and other seeds suitable for double cropping since the harvest season is ending, when there is still moisture in the field.
