Anti-drug awareness, rally organised across State

As the world observed International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, districts across the State too observed the day with many organising rally and awareness programmes.
Police too conducted anti-drug drive at many places including Moreh where a huge quantity of alcohol and beverages were seized from many places.
Tengnoupal Police SP Dr S Ibomcha Singh, Additional SP Kh Robinsun, SDPO Mohurle Shandeep Gopal Das, DSP Thomas Thokchom, OC Moreh PS Letkhohao Vaiphei and Moreh CDO OC Shaktisen led the personnel today during the raid conducted at Moreh Bazar.
The seized liquor were handed over to Excise Department Moreh and destroyed, said Police.

Cycle rally against drug abuse .
Kakching: Kakching District Police organised a cycle rally, "Celebrate Life Without Drugs", from Sugnu to Sora village in line with the UN International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking observed across the globe today.
The awareness rally stopped at different pockets of Kakching district before a final campaign against drug abuse at Sora Bazaar.
The rally was organised under the theme- "Listen First- Listening to children and youth is the first step to help them grow healthy and safe" in association with local CSOs, clubs, and Leishna (packaged drinking water), Nilakuthi, Imphal East.
SP Kakching and all ranked officers including female and male personnel along with football players of Serou, Kakching Runners participated in the campaign.
Volunteers in hundreds took part in the rally.
Thoubal: District Legal Services Authority Thoubal in association with Legal Aid Clinic Yairipok and Manipur Women Foundation under the aegis of the Manipur State Legal Services Authority observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking day Salungpham bazar Community Hall.
District and Session Judge Thoubal Simon Singh, Thoubal ZP member Ph Heramani Singh, Kang Yumnam GP Pradhan Ph Leibakchao Singh and Heirok PS second OC Kingkom attended the event as presidium members.
Advocate Arunjoy Singh and Advocate Khoisnam Jeton Meitei spoke at the event about Domestic Violence Act, Cyber Crime, Drug Abuse and NALSA scheme.
At Heirok Part III, the day observed at the community hall of the village.
The observation was organised under the sponsorship of Manipur State Legal Services Authority Imphal by the District Legal Services Authority Thoubal with Legal Aid Clinic Heirok and NIPCO.
City Club president Ningthoujam Gopen Meitei, Heirok Part III GP Pradhan N Tangba Singh, YBC president Elangbam Jugol Singh and SADO Heirok secretary Mandir Laishram attended the event as dignitaries.
Advocate Laishram Sumila Devi and Advocate Md Zakir Hussain spoke at the event as resource persons.
Bishnupur: 32 Bn CRPF Loktak Project and Bishnupur Police Station too observed the day at Ningthoukhong Higher Secondary School in Bishnupur.

Jiribam: District Legal Services Authority Imphal East and students' Legal Literacy Club, Jiribam Higher Secondary School under the sponsorship of the Manipur State Legal Services Authority observed the day against drug abuse at auditorium of the Jiribam Higher Secondary School.
Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, Principal of the school L Ranjitkumar Singh, Commandant 87 Bn CRPF Sunil Kumar Singh, OC Jiribam Police T Bangka Behari and Senior Advocate KB Roy attended the event as presidium members.
Tengnoupal: District Legal Services Authority under the aegis of MSLSA organised an awareness programme at Jatri Niwash, Moreh Ward No 9.Advocate S Manorama spoke at the event as resource person.
Thoubal: Earth Care Foundation Kiyam Siphai Thoubal in association with District Legal Services Authority Imphal East organised a one day legal awareness programme at in line with International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at Lilong Arapati Mamang Leikai Community Hall.
CADA too have organised street corner meeting and poster campaign at many places of the district yesterday.
The campaign were conducted at Heirok, Wangjing Salungpham, Khongjom, Khangabok, Thoubal Bazar, Babu Bazar, Kiyam Siphai, Waithou, Lilong, Yairipok and Thoubal Leishangthem.
Pherzawl: International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking was organised by Company Operating Base Parbung of Aina Battalion in Parbung village, Pherzawl.
A campaign "Run for Unity" was organized to help spread awareness against drug abuse as a part of the observation.
More than 245 people of all ages participated in the event.
A seminar and poster competition was also organized which was participated and attended by more than 75 students and 170 villagers.
The villagers and students were also distributed with books and pamphlets on the issue of drug abuse.
The winners of the poster competition were felicitated by Major Lovejoy Baite, Company Commander, Parbung Post.
