Condemnations aplenty

Imphal, May 26 2009: Condemnations continue to flow in Tuesday from various organisations and individuals over the killing of Prof Islamuddin, who was also the Proctor of Manipur University yesterday in the University campus.

The Kuki Students' Organisation (Imphal Branch) condemned the killing of Prof Islamuddin while also urging the government to take up precautionary measures to prevent the recurrence of such unwanted incidents in the future.

The United Muslim Council, Manipur, Urup Part-II Muslim Youth Club, United Clubs Organisation, Golapati, Unemployed Development Organisation, SLUCO, HERICOUN, the Rastriya Janata Dal, Manipur, Yairipok Branch of the MSF, All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA), the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Manipur Pradesh, CPI Manipur state council, Social and Educational Welfare Association (SEWA), Kwakta Khuman, the Students' Federation of India (SFI), Manipur state committee, All Manipur Arts and Culture Students' Union, Naoria Kendra Women Welfare Association, ACOAM-Lup, Kangleipak, the Chanura Lamchinglel Kangleipak (CLK), International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA), All Manipur PHED Workers and Employees' Association, Lok Janshakti Party, Social Volunteers' Association, have condemned the killing incident while also sharing the grief of the family.

Outer Manipur MP-elect, Thangso Baite has also denounced the killing of former Dean Prof Islamuddin while also sharing the grief of the family members.

Condemning the killing of Prof Islamuddin, the United Muslim Organisation questions whether there has been any 'terrorist' organisation in the valley like the NSCN-IM who had killed Dr Kishan in not too distant past.

Meanwhile, the MSF has decided to launch a black badge campaign in all educational institutions if the killers do not come out by Wednesday.

The Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) also condemned the killing.

Sacrifice Youth Development Organization of Tulihal Awang Leikai, seeking clarification from the perpetrators of the killing expressed wonder if a terrorist outfit more terrorizing than the killer NSCN-IM who killed Dr Kishan and his staffs has arisen in the state and also stated that the Organization will cooperate with any decision taken up by the JAC against the killing.

The Poor People Development Organization (PPDO) of Tulihal Yairipok and the All Manipur Rickshaw Drivers and Pullers' Welfare Association (AMRDPWA) in different press releases stated that the incident of shooting Professor Islamuddin inside the campus of the apex education body of the state, Manipur University by some gunmen in the broad daylight is a big lapse in the side the state government and its security system.

The Chief Minister, O Ibobi should be responsible for the incident.

The statements also expressed that it would have been the better decision of the killers to avail the Professor a chance to clarify the public about whatever wrong the killers think he had committed.

The Tulihal Educated Association cum Youth Centre Yairipok stated that Professor Md Islamuddin was a person who worked for development of the students as well as the society and also contributed in bringing up quality education in the state.

The association also claimed the incident was an act of wild and inhuman culprits.

A joint meeting of Youth Voluntary Organization, Changamdabi Idigah Club and Keipharok Youth Development Organization presided by Md Abdul Sukur held today morning at Changamdabi Primary School, the native of Professor Islamuddin has also formed a JAC with an objective to walk together with the JAC formed against the brutal killing of Dr Islamuddin.

A condemnation meeting of The All Yairipok United Clubs Organization held today expressed that the incident was an act out of humanity.

How much wrong the professor might have committed, he should have given a chance to rectify.

The Social Development Council (SODEC) of Yairipok Ningthounai also claimed the state government as uncontrolled and appealed to launch CBI enquiry into the killing incident.

Different press releases of various civil organizations including The Tulihal Multipurpose Women Co-operative Society of Yairipok, Apunba Nupi Khunai Lamjing Meira Lup of Yairipok, Ching-Tam Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (CHINGLEIMA LUP) of Lairenkabi, Poirei Ita Meira Paibi Apunba Lup of Keishampat, Allied Fraternal Clubs' Organization of Tera Lukram Leirak, The Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai Youth and Social Club, Thangmeiband and Uripok United Club's Organization (TUCO), Changamdabi Mohammadan Club, Integrated Live Stock Cum Pisciculture Co-operative Society Limited of Yairipok, The Second State Level Pineapple Fare Cum Youth Festival Committee and Development Organization Andro Kendra, The Jamiatulama-E-Manipur Sadar Bazaar of Jama Masjid Imphal and Chanura Lamchinglel Kangleipal (CLK) have also conveyed their deep condemnations and sorrow over the gunning down of former Dean of Students' Welfare of Manipur University, Professor Dr Md Islamuddin on May 25 last in the broad daylight within the campus of the University by some unidentified terrorists and also sought clarification from the inhuman miscreants through media soon.
