RNSOM backs TYCM stand

Imphal, September 25 2025: The Rongmei Naga Students' Organisation (RNSOM) has endorsed the ultimatum issued by the Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) to the Government of Manipur, giving 15 days for the removal of the paramilitary force from Tribal Girls Hostel, Old Lambulane, Imphal.

The "occupation" of the entire Tribal Girls' Hostel by the paramilitary force is a total suppression of the rights of tribal students of Manipur who are studying in Imphal, said RNSOM in a press release issued by general secretary Jeanthui Panmei.

Shedding light on an important point, RNSOM shared that many tribal girl students from far-flung and remote areas are compelled to stay in rented houses in Imphal, tirelessly paying rent.

Meanwhile, the parents struggle to support and sponsor their children's education at the same time also managing their families and sustaining their day-to-day livelihoods through paddy cultivation, said RNSOM .
