'Lecture / Demonstration on Waree Leeba' held

Bishnupur, November 24 2024: As part of the PMSHRI school bagless programme, JNV Bishnupur, conducted a "One Day Lecture cum Demonstration on Waree Leeba" on November 23 atthe campus of JNV Bishnupur.

The programme was organised as an approach to conserve the declining popularity of the precious art form "Waree Leeba" by embracing into school academic environment and to instill the moral values of the art form to the young students.

As part of the programme, K Nilakanta Singh, a teacher of fine arts of the Vidyalaya spoke on the topic "Modernisation vs Cultural conservation" and Takhellambam Shyamkanhai Singh presented on the topic "Social importance of Waree Leeba art form" .

An episode of Mahabharata was also demonstrated for the students.
