Imphal, October 24 2024:
Urging the State Government to appoint a new headmaster for Thoubal Moijing High School within one week, the All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) has threatened to launch democratic forms of agitations in collaboration with the student community otherwise.
Addressing the media at Koubru Hall of Manipur Press Club today, Imtiyas Heibokmayum, president, AMMSO, stated that an AMMSO team carried out an inspection of Thoubal Moijing High School recently.
During the inspection, the AMMSO team found the school in a deplorable condition with no assigned headmaster monitoring the functioning of the school.
Such state of affairs is detrimental to the academic career of young students and should be promptly rectified by the State Government, said the AMMSO president.
On another note, he informed that a few years ago Thoubal Moijing High School was a popular higher secondary school.
But the concerned authority demoted it to the level of a high school instead of providing the school with the necessary improvements and upgradations to ensure its smooth functioning, he claimed.
Expressing discontent with the situation, he questioned on behalf of AMMSO why the erstwhile higher secondary school was demoted to the status of a high school.
Therefore, he called for swift Governmental intervention to appoint a headmaster within one week and measures to improve the functioning of the school for the welfare of the student community.
