Cine Actors' Guild Manipur celebrates 22nd Foundation Day

Imphal, September 24 2026: The Cine Actors' Guild Manipur (CAGM) celebrated its 22nd Foundation Day at the auditorium of Hotel Imolesh, Imphal today.

CAGM president Kshetrimayum Tejkishore and Film Forum Manipur chairman Samjetsabam Mangoljao Singh attended as president and chief guest respectively.

Advisors, ex-presidents, ex-secretaries of CAGM, members of 12 constituent guilds/associations of Film Forum Manipur, office bearers of Film Forum and senior and upcoming film actors participated.

Floral tributes were paid to departed artistes and film personalities who dedicated their lives to Manipuri cinema.

Addressing the function, Mangoljao said cooperation among all who work in the film industry is essential to further develop the Manipuri film industry.

He said if people give good suggestions to Film Forum Manipur, the apex body of 12 guilds/associations, it will try to implement them.

He said people of Manipur watch films acted by local artistes and appreciated the contribution of film actors.

Tejkishore said the Guild has been taking up various activities to promote film artistes and is planning acting workshops for upcoming artistes.

He said film is a powerful medium and what is spoken and shown will be followed by people, so care should be taken regarding language, dress and conduct.

He said use of abusive language on social media platforms will not benefit the film industry.

On the occasion, identity cards were distributed to newly enrolled actors.

Senior actress Rajkumari Hemabati presented songs "Leirangi Leikada Khongul Tarammi" and "Ho Ho Khoimu" from the film 'Kombirei' as part of the cultural programme.
