Urea distributed at subsidized rate to farmers

Imphal, June 24 2026:
Irabot Foundation Manipur, in collaboration with the Agriculture Department, distributed urea at a subsidized rate of Rs 270 per bag to farmers at two locations on Wednesday.
A total of 300 bags were provided at Taret Khun in Imphal East district, while 500 bags were distributed at Samaram Community Hall in Thoubal district.
IFM president Kh Gopen and AFO L Sanatomba attended the distribution programmes.
Speaking at the event, Kh Gopen urged farmers to use urea judiciously, noting that excess application raises costs and damages soil health.
He advised fanners to avoid unnecessary competition in fertilizer use and instead focus on scientific methods to improve yield.
He added that a positive and constructive mindset, along with proper fertilizer use, would ensure healthy families and reduce medical expenses.
Kh Gopen praised farmers for working tirelessly despite hardships like floods, drought, and conflict, calling them true warriors of the land.
The Mobile Urea Distribution drive will continue in the coming days.
