FIDM, Apunba Nupi Marup celebrate foundation day

The Federation of Indigenous People's Democratic Movement (FIDM) observed its 3rd foundation day at their head office located at Langol Game Village, Imphal West today.
As per a press release, the ceremony was graced by Wahengbam Shanta Meetei, president FIDM; Yumnam Mamta, meira paibi, Game Village Zone-I and Leishanghtem Ajitkumar Meetei as the chief guest and guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the FIDM president made an appeal to the State and Central Government for recognition of the customs and cultural identity of the indigenous communities of the State.
He assured that FIDM will work in collaboration with the public to uplift vulnerable sections of society.
In commemoration of its 3rd foundation day, FIDM also distributed food items at relief camps and children homes.
Separately, the Apunba Nupi Marup, Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai observed its 13th foundation day today with the attendance of local dignitaries.
The observation ceremony was held at Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai Community Hall.
It was graced by local elders Hamom Kumar as the chief guest, Konthoujam Ranjit and Sapam Krishnamohon as the guests of honour and Soraisam Ashalata, president, Apunba Nupi Marup as the functional president.
Addressing the gathering, Sanjenbam Silomi, secretary, Apunba Nupi Marup shared that a painting competition was held on March 22 for the local children to commemorate the organisation's 13th foundation day.
A total of 59 students participated in the painting competition and prizes were distributed to the winners of different categories.
Consolation prizes were handed over to all participating students.
