Meitei Kathe delegation showcases culture at Myanmar Water Festival

Imphal, April 23 2026: A 15-member delegation of the Meitei Kathe National Literature and Cultural Association, Myanmar, led by Zin Tuko alias Henba Takhellambam, participated in the Thingyan Festival held in Mandalay, Myanmar from April 13 to 17, 2026 .

According to a release issued by the association, the team was invited for the first time by the Myanmar Government to take part in the annual celebration, which marks the traditional New Year of the country.

The delegation showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Meitei community through traditional performances during the festival.

During the event, the team presented various Manipuri traditional and folk dances, captivating audiences and highlighting the vibrancy of their cultural traditions.

The festival also featured participation from South Korean Star XI singer and several renowned actors from Myanmar's film industry, adding to the grandeur of the celebration.
