Imphal, April 23 2025:
Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo Singh paid floral tribute and homage on the occasion of the 134th Khongjom Day during the inauguration ceremony of a newly renovated G+1 Citizen Development Committee (CDC) Club building at Salam Leikai Maning Leirak today.
As per a release issued by the office of the MLA, a solar rooftop panel system has also been installed in the building, which had earlier been damaged in a fire outbreak The event was attended by Corporators RK Jiten Singh and Salam Tiken Singh, along with former Corporator Kangabam Tiken Singh, social worker L Shivananda Sharma, and several other respected locality leaders and residents.
Addressing the gathering, RK Imo highlighted various developmental projects undertaken across the constituency to uplift the lives of the people.
Referring to the newly inaugurated CDC club building, he emphasized the increasing demand for community halls in each locality.
He stated that in response to these requests, not just one, but multiple G+1 community halls have been constructed even within the same locality ensuring greater accessibility and adequate space for community events, meetings, and welfare services.
He added that given the extensive development, there may be little space left for new constructions in the next term.
However, he acknowledged that the Salam Leikai community hall, which was recently renovated with tile flooring, could also be considered for a G+l structure if there is a growing need from the residents.
Touching upon infrastructure works, the MLA addressed the ongoing inconvenience caused by the sewerage project in Sagolband, particularly impacting mad conditions.
He urged residents to cooperate and bear with the temporary discomfort, assuring that upon the project's completion all major roads will be developed as rigid pavements, as previously announced by the Government and the remaining smaller internal roads will either be blacktopped or fitted with paver blocks, depending on suitability ensuring long-term benefits for the people.
RK Imo also reiterated the success of the "Go To Leikai" initiative launched in 2022, where various government services were extended to the doorsteps of local residents.
