Imphal, November 22 2024: In response to urgent requests from villagers of Kanglatongbi, Imphal West District, the Assam Rifles initiated an extensive fogging operation to address a concerning rise in vector-borne diseases, particularly dengue and malaria.

The operations commenced on November 21, following a significant outbreak that has raised public health alarms in the region, said a release issued by HQ IGAR(South).

Recognizing the critical nature of the situation, the Assam Rifles conducted systematic fogging in residential and high-risk areas to effectively reduce mosquito growth.

This initiative was executed in collaboration with local health authorities and district administration to ensure comprehensive coverage and maximum impact.

Local residents expressed their gratitude for this timely intervention, viewing the fogging operation as a vital measure in controlling the spread of these debilitating diseases that have affected the community in recent weeks.
