Free eye and ENT health camp held at Hiyanglam

Kakching, June 20 2026:
A one-day free comprehensive health camp was organised at Hiyanglam Makha Leikai Community Hall in Kakching district on Saturday, providing eye and ENT screening services to the local community.
According to a release issued by Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd, the camp was jointly organised by Shija Eye Care Foundation (SECF), National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI), Manipur Chapter, and social worker Maibam Dhanabir Singh.
A team of healthcare professionals led by Dr Holmes Naorem, Consultant Ophthalmologist, and Dr Radhakrishna S, Consultant ENT Surgeon of Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd, conducted screenings for a total of 267 individuals.
During the camp, 47 ENT-related cases, 20 cases of pterygium and 12 cataract cases requiring further medical management were detected.
A total of 72 spectacles were provided to beneficiaries on the spot, while 16 more spectacles will be distributed later after preparation.
The initiative aimed to promote early detection and timely treatment of eye and ENT-related ailments while improving access to quality healthcare services for people in the community.
