Thoubal, April 20 2026: Preparations are underway for the annual Khongjom Day observance, scheduled for April 23 at Kheba Ching, Khongjom.

A full dress rehearsal of the commemorative program was held today to ensure a smooth and successful event.

The rehearsal saw participation from the Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, the Superintendent of Police, senior officials from the Manipur Police Department, the Additional Deputy Commissioner to the Governor of Manipur, and officials from the Home Department.

This year, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister Y Khemchand are expected to lead the public in paying floral tributes to the valiant warriors of Manipur, including Paona Brajabashi, who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting against the British during the Anglo-Manipuri War of 1891 .
