A CABINET meeting of the SPF government under the chair of the chief minister, O Ibobi today has decided to propose a plan outlay of Rs 2,412.02 crores to the Planning Commission of India for the state of Manipur for the financial year 2009-10 .
The plan outlay to be proposed for the state is 10 percent increased from the plan outlay of the state in this current financial year 2008-09.The plan size of the current financial year was Rs 1,660 crores.
The proposed plan size of the state was tabled from the state planning department for approval of the Cabinet, a reliable source said.
For finalization of the plan size of the state for the year 2009-10, the planning commission will hold a working group meeting with the officials of the state government on January 16 and 17 next year at New Delhi.
State government will put up a proposal for increasing the Special Plan Assistant to the state to Rs 800 crores from this year's outlay of Rs 550 crores, the source said.
The Cabinet meeting has also discussed on the memorandum to be submitted to a team of the 13th finance commission lead by its chairman to the state on January 21 and 22.While discussing on the memorandum to be submitted to the visiting team, the Cabinet has decided urged to award additional fund of Rs.1000 crores so as to mend up the financial shortest to be faced by the state government while implementing the recommendation of the sixth pay commission in the state, the source said.
The Cabinet also decided to press the finance commission to award Rs.500 crores for five years under the 13th finance commission, the source said.
While discussing other agendas, the Cabinet also approved to the proposed recruitment of 60 posts of the radio telephone operators in the police department against the currently 96 vacant posts.
Another proposal of filling of 14 technical supervisors, 12 laboratory technicians and 100 health workers on contact basis at the state health department was also approved by the Cabinet, the source said.
The Cabinet also decided to sanction Rs.10 crores to the Kangla Fort Board for rejuvenating the fort and another Rs 1 crore for preserving the polo game.
The Cabinet also discussed on the proposal of the en-masse surrender of a group of KCP(MC) which related with the benefits to be given to them and for the protection of the surrendered militants, the source said.
