HIV/STI awareness rallies held across six districts

Imphal, September 18 2026:
Over 1,000 people participated in HIV and STI awareness rallies held across six districts on Friday as part of the two-month Intensified Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign 3.0 of Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MSACS).
The rallies were organised by respective District AIDS Prevention & Control Units (DAPCUs) in Imphal East, Imphal West, Kakching, Churachandpur, Senapati and Chandel.
In Imphal East, Deputy Commissioner Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam flagged off the rally from CMO complex to Sangeet Kala Sangam, Lamlong.
In Imphal West, DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh flagged off the rally from CMO complex to Lamphel Sanakeithel.
In Chandel, DC Mamoni Doley flagged off the rally from the DC office complex to SDO complex via main market.
In Kakching, DC Angeline Renita R flagged off the rally.
Churachandpur held a motorcycle rally flagged off by DC Krishna Kumar, from Forest Gate, Tuibong to Public Ground, Lamka.
In Senapati, SDO Paomata Block, Sheveine flagged off the rally from the DC office complex to Indoor Stadium.
The campaign was launched by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on August 12 at City Convention Centre, Imphal marking International Youth Day.
It will conclude on October 12 and includes door-to-door visits, school and college outreach, village level awareness, flash mobs and street plays.
