Body of captive woman found

After three corpses out of six individuals abducted by Kuki militants amid the November 11 shootout at Jakuradhor village under Borobekra sub-division were found, body of a woman abducted on the same day, was recovered on Sunday along the Barak River near Singerbond Cooperative in Silcnar, Assam.
The body identified as that of Yurembam Rani Devi (66) w/o Y Nabakishor, has been deposited at the mortuary of Assam Medical College.
As of now, six bodies are in the mortuary, including the four individuals killed by armed Kuki militants after abduction, along one found charred inside a house torched by Kuki militants on November 11, and another shot dead the same day.
Meanwhile, reports have been received about recovery of a body in Barak River on Sunday, which has close resemblance to that of a 2.5 months old child, who was among the six abducted by Kuki militants.
However, till the filing of this report, identity of the deceased baby could not be ascertained.
Among the six abducted, whereabouts of Heitombi Devi (25) and her 2.5 months old son, Laishram Chingkheinganba, remain unknown.
