'Nasha Mukt Saptah' campaign kicks off

The "Nasha Mukt Saptah" campaign kicked off across Imphal East today, with the District Administration launching a 10-day drive till June 26 under the theme "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan- Vikshit Bharat Ki Pehchaan" to combat substance abuse and build a drug-free society.
The campaign aims to strengthen public awareness against substance abuse and promote a drug-free society, with special focus on women, youth, and educational institutions.
Multiple outreach activities are being conducted to ensure wide community participation in the nationwide movement for a drug-free India.
Mass pledge drives are being organised district-wide to reaffirm collective resolve against drug abuse.
Registration drives for "Nasha Mukti Mitr" volunteers are also underway to encourage community-led prevention efforts, while signature campaigns are being held in schools and colleges to build support for a Nasha Mukt Bharat.
ASHA and Anganwadi workers have begun door-to-door IEC activities in vulnerable areas, and awareness sessions on the ill effects of substance abuse are being conducted during Gram Sabha meetings to reach grassroots communities.
A special health camp coupled with yoga sessions will also be held at the Deaddiction Centre, Imphal East, to promote physical and mental well-being and support recovery.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to building a healthy, informed, and resilient society and safeguarding future generations from addiction.
