WAQF Board Manipur staff oppose illegal monetary demand

Imphal, January 17 2026: A joint meeting of WAQF Board, Manipur staff and teachers was held today, protesting illegal demands for 1% monthly salary by unidentified persons.

The meeting was attended by Md Jajuddin Shah, Project Officer (Adm), WAQF Board, Manipur; Md Islaiddin Khan, APO; Md Riyajuddin, vice president, Khelakhong Khongjil High Madrasa; Md Abdur Rahman, president, Teachers Association; Md Abdus Samad, secretary, Teachers Association; Md Alsam Khan, vice president, Sunrise Public School and other members of the Board.

As per a release issued by the JAC Against The Illegal Demand by Unidentified Persons To The Employee of WAQF Board, Manipur, the meeting unanimously resolved to resist the demand and seek Government protection.

The meeting also decided to reject the unreasonable demand, raise public awareness about threats, take stern action against further pressure and seek Government investigation and protection.

The staff also urged the authorities to address the issue and ensure normal functioning of WAQF Board operation.
