Security forces, institutions celebrate Independence Day

Imphal, August 16 2021: Apart from district administrations and institutions, central security forces including Assam Rifles and CRPF units celebrated the 75th Independence Day at their respective office districts and premises organising various events and programmes on Sunday.

In Senapati district, the celebration was held at the DC office complex.

Though no CSOs attended the programme due to a total shutdown imposed in all Naga hill districts, the programme was participated by all district level officers, police and 4th IRB personnels.

In his address, DC Mahesh Chaudhari congratulated the medical and police personnel for taking the lead role in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic in the district and maintaining law and order.

The DC also distributed commendation certificates to select district officials and police personnel for their commendable services.

Senapati District Bar Association (SDBA) hoisted the Tri colour at the District and Sessions Court campus to celr ebrate the independence day of India.

NONEY: Amidst tight security arrangement, the 75th Independence Day celebration was organised by district administration of Noney at DCs Complex on Sunday with DC Robert Singh Kshetrimayum hoisting the National Flag and taking the salute from march past contingents.

Appreciation certificates were also distributed to the select government employees, Departments, ASHA workers and media persons.

TAMENGLONG: The 75th Independence Day was celebrated at Mini Stadium, Lower Ground with strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs.

DC Tamenglong Armstrong Pame hoisted the National Flag and took the salute from the march past contingent of Manipur Police and 5th Manipur Rifles.

Pame extended his heartfelt gratitude to the health department for their tireless effort in battling against the Covid-19 pandemic and thanked forest minister Awangbow Newmai for taking up the initiative ot posting specialist doctors in Tamenglong Hospital and providing two ambulances for the people of Tamei and Tousem sub-division.

He also said that in the next 15 days or so dialysis facilities will start functioning and all sort of medical equipment will be set up in district hospital to take care of the health problems so as to prevent public from traveling to the city for further medical treatment.

Copies of a magazine highlighting the achievements of the BJP led government in the last four years published by Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) were also distributed to the people on the occasion.

KAKCHING: The district administration organised the 75th Independence Day at DC Kakching Office Complex on Sunday.

DC D Gangmei unfurled the National Flag and took the salute from marching contingents of Kakching District Police, VDF and 39 Assam Rifles led by SDPO Kakching Konjengbam Gitchandra.

During the programme, the district administration also presented mementoes to Sugnu MLA K Ranjit, Hiyanglam MLA Dr Radheshyam Yumnam, Wabagai MLA Md Fajur Rahim, Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar and Kakching Zilla Parish ad adhyaksha Ph Jiten for their roles in the fight against covid 19.Appreciation certificate was also distributed to ex ceptional police and civil department employees along with Jeevan Hospital Kakching, Ema Hospital Kakching, Sun Hospital Wabagai Lamkhai, Doctors for You (Online Health Services) and selective Covid Task Forces of the district for their contribution in the battle against the pandemic.

KANGPOKPI: All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) conducted an Online Debate Competition on India's Independence Day under various topics for students of Class VIII (category A), Class IX-X (category B), Class XI XII (category C) and general public (category D).

A total of 46 students participated in the event.

The participants were required to either speak 'for or against the topic in Nepali language.

In category A, Bishal Siwakoti of Charhajare and Sujal Ghimire of Kanglatongbi Hatikhuwa bagged the first and the second position respectively, while in category B, Lila Krishna Basnet Chhetri of Toribari and Pooja Uprety of Parsain secured the first and the.second position respectively In category C, Saraswati Basnet of Toribari, Pratima Kharel of Kanglatongbi Hatikhuwa and Pretty Bhattarai of Koirengi Bazar bagged first, second and third position respectively, while in category (D), Pravin Koirala of Kanglatongbi Hatikhuwa and Prema Basnet of Toribari secured first position while Sanjay Gautam of Tispari Kanglatongbi and Mamta Adhikari of Serou Part-3 secured second and third position respectively.

CHURACHANDPUR: Autonomous District Council (ADC), Churachandpur celebrated of 75th Independence Day at its office campus on Sunday, where the caretaker chairman of the ADC Khaipau Habkip unfurled the Tri-colour.

I-Day was also celebrated at Saihenjang village in the district.

At CRPF Group Centre Langjing, M&N Sector DIG Mahabir Singh took guard of honour and hoisted the national flag in the presence of officers, personnel and their families.

Mahabir also read out names of CRPF brave hearts, who were awarded Shaurya Chakra, PPMG, PMG, Distinguish Medal and Meritorious Medal and congratulated them.

The GC also planted 2000 saplings of various types of fruits and medicinal plants inside the campus to mark the celebration.

The Independence Day celebration by 44 AR was marked by cultural programmes depicting the rich and vivid cultures of India in connection and staging of a play based on the life of Rani Gaidinliu, the great freedom tighter while Churachandpur Bn Assam Rifles organised weapons display for locals of Parbung sub-division of Pherzawl district.

Sainik School Imphal celebrated the 75th Independence Day by organising various events and programmes spanning for a week including health camp for staff and families, vaccination programme, online competitions and Freedom Run as Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) celebrated Independence Day at several locations in different districts of the state.

HQIGAR (South) .on Sunday organised a freedom bike rally to commemorate 75 years of India's Independence.

According to PRO IGAR(S), the bike rally was flagged off by IGAR (S) major general Alok Naresh from Mantripukhri garrison and culminated at INA Museum Moirang.

More-than 60 enthusiastic bikers, including 25 Assam Rifles personnel led by major general Alok Naresh participated in the freedom bike rally to mark the celebration of Bharat Ka Amrit Mahotsav - 75 years of India's Independence.
