Kakching, November 15 2025: The Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony of the 5th batch students of BSc Nursing at Yengkhom Netramani College of Nursing, Kakching (YNCON) was held today at the auditorium of Jivan Hospital, Kakching.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Yengkhom Ashok Kumar, Managing Director, YNCON, shared that in India, doctors, nurses and anyone joining the medical field first needs to take a 3-month course to improve their communication skill.

He said that communicating properly with the patients in front of their families helps improve their medical treatment.

Otherwise, in some cases, the patients may end up concealing some aspects of their illness, which pose obstacles in their treatment.

Highlighting the importance of clear and respectful communication between medical practitioners and the patient parties, he said it will help prevent the occurrence of unfortunate incidents between the two.

The event was attended by Colonel Meghachandra Naorem; retd Architect, Military Engineering Services as the chief guest; Priyadarshini Laishram, SP Kakching as the functional president and Dr Jivanlata, Medical Superintendent, Jivan Hospital Kakching and Professor Martina, Principal, YNCON as the guest of honours.
