Mayangkhang village authority denies alleged Bolero hijacking

Kangpokpi, August 14 2026: The Mayangkhang Village Authority has strongly denied allegations made by the Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Sadar Hills, regarding the alleged hijacking of a Bolero pickup belonging to Lamtinchon Chongloi at Mayangkhang Thangal village in Kangpokpi district.

In a press statement issued on Friday, the village authority described the allegations as "baseless, fabricated and devoid of any factual basis", stating that it had no knowledge of any such incident within its jurisdiction.

The authority alleged that the KSO-Sadar Hills statement was an attempt to spread misinformation, mislead the public and tarnish the reputation of Mayangkhang village and the Thangal community.

It categorically rejected and denied the allegations.

The village authority called upon the KSO-Sadar Hills to immediately withdraw the statement and refrain from circulating unverified information without credible evidence.

It also appealed for a focus on peaceful coexistence among communities.
