FFM holds social service at Kekrupat ahead of June 18

Imphal, June 14 2026:
Ahead of The Great Uprising & Unity Day on June 18, Film Forum Manipur today organised a social service at Kekrupat to pay homage to the martyrs of the 2001 June Uprising.
Members of 12 guilds and associations under the Forum, along with noted film personalities, took part in the programme.
Interim Chairman N Surjitkanta (BB Surjit) said the service was held to honour those who laid down their lives to protect Manipur's integrity.
He urged all to uphold unity and set aside differences to safeguard the state.
Secretary K Ronelchandra said the Forum organises this service at Kekrupat every year before June 18 .
Senior actor and cultural activist Narendra Ningomba stated that artistes are revolutionaries of society and must lead in such causes, adding that honouring martyrs will instil patriotism in the youth.
Vice Chairman-2 Ksh Kishwirkumar, former Chairman S Mangoljao, Information & Communication Secretary Rakesh Naorem, actor Ningthoujam Joyvidya, filmmaker Romi Meitei, and singer Sadananda Hamom also attended.
