Nemcha says women contribute immensely to overall development in State

Kangpokpi, December 13 2018: Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen acknowledged the immense contribution of women in Manipur for the State's overall development.

She expressed this while speaking as the chief guest at the silver jubilee celebration of Kuki Women Union, Manipur (KWUM) at Thomas Brigadier ground, Kangpokpi today.

Nemcha said thai women play a crucial role in building and shaping a good society which includes moulding today's generations for a bright future and exclaimed that it is also the responsibility of women to lessen any unwanted menace.

The Minister stressed that cooperation is the key which is required from all spheres so as to successfully advance any good deeds and developmental activities forward.

Motivating the women gathered for the celebration, Nemcha said that women should not feel inferior when it comes to performing one's duty and that they should get inspiration from many successful women around the world, who have made a difference through their passion and profession.

As part of the occasion, KWU Manipur Silver Jubilee monolith was also unveiled by the Minister in the presence of Haokholal Hangshing, Chairman of SH-ADC, Kangpokpi,' Deputy Commissioner, Kangpokpi District, Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, Kuki Inpi, CSOs and women from different parts of the State.

On the other hand, Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen, who is also the local MLA of Kangpokpi AC today launched the Kangpokpi District website www.dckpidistrict.gov.in at the conference hall of DC, Kangpokpi.

Lauding the Kangpokpi district administration for this landmark achievement, Minister Nemcha expressed that creating the website for the newly formed district was indeed the need of the hour, keeping in mind that the world today is a technologically global village.

With the launch of this website, people will be able to observe governmental as well as various activities apart from availing welfare programmes on time, she said while adding that the website will also help maintain transparency in governance, she asserted.
