UPSC achiever Wahengbam Renudhar accorded warm reception at Hiyanglam

Imphal, March 13 2026: Wahengbam Renudhar, who secured an All India Rank of 652 in the Civil Services Examination 2025 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), was accorded a warm reception by the people of Hiyanglam and Wabagai.

Renudhar, son of Wahengbam Subachandra and Wahengbam Ongbi Thoibi of Hiyanglam Awang Leikai in Kakching district, was felicitated during a reception ceremony organised by Kachathol Hiyanglam Wabagai at Kachathol Ground.

The programme was sponsored by Dr Elangbam Amitkumar, proprietor of Lamyangba Enterprises.

The event was attended by Dr Elangbam Amitkumar as chief guest, village elder W Chaobi as functional president, and E Surendrajit, retired AI of Kakching, as guest of honour.

During the ceremony, Dr Elangbam Amitkumar along with members of Kachathol Hiyanglam Wabagai and Meira Paibi members of the locality honoured Renudhar by presenting flower garlands, Lengyan Phee and other gifts in recognition of his achievement.

Speaking on the occasion, Renudhar said that success in the UPSC examination can be achieved with the right strategy and persistent effort.

He shared that he was unable to clear the examination in his earlier attempt due to a wrong strategy.

However, the moral support from his family and friends during his failure encouraged him to work harder and adopt a better approach, which ultimately led to his success.

He further stated that the struggles and difficulties he faced while preparing for the examination faded away when he received the warm reception from people of his locality, both at the airport and later at his birthplace.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Dr Elangbam Amitkumar stressed the importance of good governance in nurturing a healthy society.

He pointed out that due to the poor economic condition in the state, many parents are unable to afford higher education for their children, which is not a sign of a good government.

He emphasised that building a healthy society requires strong educational institutions and better health infrastructure.

"If we want to produce more achievers like Renudhar in the future, we must ensure good leadership and create an environment that supports education and development," he said.
