Shija Hospitals observes Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

Imphal, January 13 2025: In observance of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd in collaboration with Primary Health Center (PHC), Kumbi, organised a cervical cancer screening and awareness programme for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) at PHC Kumbi on Monday.

According to a release issued by Shija Hospitals, Dr Irom Amrita Devi, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, Shija Hospitals, addressed 30 ASHA workers during the event.

She provided detailed insights on cervical cancer, including its causes, risk factors, symptoms, preventive measures, and treatment options.

The objective of the session was to provide ASHA workers with the necessary knowledge to identify early indicators of cervical cancer and promote preventative measures within their communities.

It concluded with an interactive discussion, providing participants an opportunity to ask questions and address concerns, enhancing their understanding of cervical cancer prevention and care.
