'Hindu Sammelan' to push for peace in Manipur

Imphal, February 12 2026: A "Hindu Sammelan" is scheduled to take place on February 15 at the Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) in the Palace Compound, Imphal, with the primary objective of restoring peace and harmony in Manipur.

The conference, organised by the Hindu Sammelan Samiti, Wangkhei Up-nagar, aims to address the current volatile situation marked by a lack of trust and conflict among different communities and religions.

Addressing a press conference today at Brahmapur Thangapat Mapal, GA Rabichandra Sharma, convenor of the organising committee, said that the conference will focus on "Panch Parivartan" (Five Transformations) to guide Manipuri society toward a better path.

Discussions will center on five core areas for nationbuilding: Social Harmony, Family Awakening, Environment Protection, Swadeshi/Self-Reliance, and Civic Duty.

Rabichndra emphasized that the main goal is to transition the State from its current unstable condition to one of peace and stability.

He noted that the event is part of a larger initiative, with Hindu conferences happening across 72 locations in Manipur, and the February 15 BOAT gathering being a key part of it.

The event seeks to facilitate understanding among people of different communities and religions to resolve conflicts and foster peace.
