LLYC celebrates 62nd Foundation Day

Imphal, August 11 2026: Patsoi AC MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor has appealed to the public to extend support to the Chief Minister's initiatives to restore peace and normalcy in Manipur, and to refrain from spreading negativity.

He was speaking as chief guest at the 62nd Foundation Day celebration of Lukram Leirak Youth Club (LLYC) held at the club's hall on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering, Kunjakeswor said that people are aware of MLAs who work for the public and those who only criticize.

"Do not obstruct.

The Government which is barely 6 months old cannot resolve all issues overnight.

Support the efforts being made to bring lasting peace", he said.

LLYC president Sushil Soibam, in his keynote address, said the club has been working at the grassroots to promote the "Idea of Manipur" by honouring students, sportspersons and artists with cash, certificates and mementos.

The club also conducts awareness programmes on Government schemes for women and key issues.

As part of the celebration, 30 students from the locality who excelled in Class 10 and 12 exams conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE, and one national-level player were felicitated.

Elders were also honoured.

Former presidents Thiyam Yumjao, Sahitya Akademi Awardee Saratchand Thiyam, Hanglem Ibomcha and others attended as presidium members.
